Case 2 is now available

 Dear students,

I hope this email finds you and your families well.

To facilitate your planning of individual assignments and team work, in a semester that we know that is quite busy, we have made already available Case 2, even though the delivery deadline is only April 20th, 1:30pm.

Cases should be sent via email to: cancasos@iseg.ulisboa.pt

This case evaluates chapters 2 and 3 of the Cost Accounting syllabus. As such, we suggest that before start solving the case, all students recap the exercises done in class and additionally solve 2 extra exercises that are now available in Aquila, along with their solutions.

To facilitate the logistic of sending the cases as well as the correction by the graders, all students should:

  1. Solve the case INDIVIDUALLY. The solution should be HANDWRITTEN but CLEAR. If the grader does not understand your handwriting he will not be able to evaluate your case.

  2. The cases should be preferably sent by scan/pdf (many printers have now available this option). Only if that is not possible, students may photo their solution and send it. However, and because photo files are very heavy, they should be avoided as much as possible.

  3. The email to send the solution should have in its subject the name and number of the student, as well as the program. For example: CASE 2 - 12345 MARY SMITH - MANAGEMENT

  4. Students should send the case to cancasos@iseg.ulisboa.pt , put their own email address in cc and ask for a delivery receipt as a way to assure that the case was correctly delivered. Because some photo attachments are very heavy, they may be sent back but students only find out about this much later on, sometimes after the deadline.

  5. The cases can and should be delivered before the deadline to avoid last minute problems, such as delivery issues.

  6. All cases delivered after the deadline will be penalized. Only in this way we assure a correct balance for the students that have obeyed to the deadline, sometimes with personal sacrifice.

Please be aware that ISEG has a policy of zero tolerance with plagiarism. COPIED CASES WILL EXCLUDE THE STUDENTS FROM THE CONTINUOUS EVALUATION AND THE PLAGIARISM WILL BE REPORTED TO THE PEDAGOGICAL COUNCIL.

We reinforce the importance of solving the cases as a means to effectively follow the course. Our experience shows that the students that opt for the continuous evaluation have better results, both in terms of approval and in terms of grades.

We also inform that the grades of case 1 will be available before the restart of classes after Easter.

Good work in solving the case, Stay Safe and Happy Easter!
