Economics and Business Information (1 º Sem 2019/2020)

Dear students,

When preparing the project report, please follow the guidelines for the group project, available from Aquila.

The report MUST follow the guidelines below:

Report:

•   Maximum of 15 pages (excludes Title page, Reference List and Appendix)

•   Minimum font size is 12

•   Font type: Calibri or Times New Roman

•   Line spacing must be 1.5 spaces between lines

•   Margins = 2.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm

Tables, Graphs, Figures:

•   The main tables, figures, graphs must be included in the main body of the report

•   Must be numbered and well identified and described

Appendix

•   Use it only if you really need to

•   Must be numbered and identified in the main body of the report

Presentation:

•   Max 10 minutes per group, which means you should be selective preparing the slides and the story you want to tell your colleagues

•   Focus on the essentials, considering the following points:

- why the topic/problem you studied matters/is important?

- what do we already know/don't know about th etopic/problem (from existing studies)?

- what was your approach to learn more about it/understand it better? 

- what did you learn and want to share with us :)

- what where the main difficulties you had in the project.

- how can we change our behaviour/work/etc to help solve the problem?

NOTE> you dont need to answer all these questions, they serve only to guide you in the presentation.

Dear students,

A quick reminder that the classes on the 3rd and 4th dec are free classes for you to work on your group projects. The room 202 (f2) will be open and you can/should use it to work on your group project, especially the excel parts.

The group presentations will take place on the 10 & 11 Dec.

Dear Students,

The career forum will take place next week on the 27-28 Nov and I have to attend as coordinator of the BSc in Economics. Consequently, there will be no class on the 27th Nov (Wed), whihc will be replaced by a new class on Friday 29th Nov from 14-16h in the same room.

Dear students

As noted on the module handbook, the presentations of the group projects will take place on the last week of lectures. We have 12 groups registered , which means we will need to use the two classes on the 10th and 11th december for presentations. Each presentation should not exceed 10 min, and we will have 5 min for discussion, so overall 15 min (10 presenattion + 5 discussion) per group.

Don't forget that you can bring the data to classes and ask questions about your project. You also have the free classes on the 3rd and 4th of dec to work on your project in the computer room where we have our classes.

- Student ID number (ie, ISEG student number)
