QUIZ NO. 2 – March 30^th 2020

THEORETICAL CLASS 8:30H - 9:30H

PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE THE QUIZ

·         The QUIZ is accessible through a link that will be made available to you on Teams “Accounting I” group at exactly 9:14h.

·         In case you “arrive late” to the QUIZ you will have less time to answer the questions (no compensation time will be given).

·         You will be asked to authenticate yourselves, therefore, you will need your ISEG credentials: E-mail and Password (the same you already use for Teams).

·         Only responses sent from your ISEG account will be accepted.

·         The moment you enter the QUIZ you should choose the language on top (Portuguese/English). Please select English.

·         The QUIZ has 8 questions.

·         The points attributed to each question will be indicated on the question.

·         In case no answer is given to the question you get 0 points on the question.

·         In case you provide an incorrect answer to the question we will deduct ¼ of the points of the question.

·         Be careful with the following: the moment you select an option, it’s no longer possible to leave the question unanswered (blank). It is possible, though, to change the option.

·         The questions appear one at a time.

·         To move on to the next question just click on the “Next” button.

·         It is possible to go back to the question whenever you wish. Just use the “Back” button.

·         After you submit the QUIZ it is no longer possible to re-do the QUIZ, or go back to the QUIZ, since the system only accepts one response per username.

·         The QUIZ ends at 9:30h precisely, so it is important for you to keep track of time.

·         After 9:30h, you will still be able to answer the questions but, you won’t be able to submit the QUIZ.

·         In case you try to submit the QUIZ after 9:30h, you get the following message:

”This form is closed”.

·         Not submitting the QUIZ means your QUIZ will be graded zero.

Dear students,

Considering the current constraints, the assessment as it was defined in the beginning of the semester will suffer some changes.

We believe it is important to have different assessment moments regarding your continuing evaluation. Therefore, we have established new assessment rules.

NEW ASSESSMENT RULES:

The mid-term and the evaluation exercise will no longer be held and will be replaced by 3 new quizzes that:

o   Are to be administered online, accessible with a browser;

o   Comprise 8 multiple choice questions (incorrect answers deduct points);

o   Have a duration of 15 minutes per quiz.

Dear Students,

Starting this Monday, March 16^th, we begin with online classes.

We will use Microsoft Teams app.

I created two groups: one group for the theoretical classes named "Accounting I" and another group for the practical classes named "Accounting I - "name of your degree"".

By now, all of you received an e-mail (sent to your iseg e-mail account) indicating you were added to these groups. In case you don't have it on your Inbox check "spam".

I ask each and every one of you to install Teams today and to indicate on the group's dialog box that you have Teams installed (add a like).

This way we can make sure everyone is onboard for this new adventure.

We will meet live on Monday at 8:30 a.m for our theoretical class.

Dear Students,

As you know, classes in ISEG’s facilities have been suspended until (at least) March, 27^th as a preventive measure related to the COVID-19 outbreak.

ISEG is committed to offering students an e-learning solution, as fast as possible. In principle, we will be able to continue Accounting 1’s classes through e-learning (using a platform such as Zoom), beginning next Monday, March 16^th, respecting your usual class schedules. You will need a computer or a smartphone with internet connection. The goal is to provide virtual class rooms that you can all attend, participate in, and clarify doubts, just like in traditional face to face classes. We are, also, working on making tutoring classes available in the same way.

We were informed that the mid-term assessment is cancelled this semester. This means that there will be classes, and no assessments, on the week of March, 30^th until April, 3^rd. Consequently, we will have to change the weights attributed to each one of the assessment components, that were communicated in the beginning of the semester, increasing the weights of the evaluation exercise and of the final exam. This has yet to be confirmed, and we will inform you in due time.

In the meantime, and while we do not have the e-learning solution accessible, you may look at the Zoom platform, that is free of charge. I also encourage you to work in your Autonomous Work Cases (so far until Case C). The solutions to these cases were uploaded today.

Right now, we need to keep calm, healthy, and positive, and trust that a viable solution will be offered soon.

Accounting 1 – QUIZ– March 2^nd, 2020

Dear students,

Rules for students:

·         Students must answer the test questions on the space provided on the test sheets (you are not allowed to bring your own answer sheets).

·         The use of draft sheets is not allowed. Any calculations are made on the test sheets.

·         Students are not allowed to unstaple the test sheets.

·         The moment you enter the room and have a look at the QUIZ, you have to stay in the room until the end of the QUIZ (15 minutes).

·         The consultation of notes or any other materials is not allowed.

·         Any attempt to commit fraud (consultation of course materials and/or consultation of colleagues) implies the test annulment.

·         Students are not allowed to use cell phones or graphical calculators during the test – BRING TO THE QUIZ A REGULAR CALCULATOR FOR CONDUCTING SIMPLE CALCULATIONS.

TIME ALLOCATION:

The QUIZ will be on the Theoretical Class – Amphitheatre 21 – Building Francesinhas 1.

However, for logistics reasons, the students are divided in 2 groups starting the test at a different time:
