Objectivos

The organization of the course Topics in Development Studies aims at framing the research themes of doctoral candidates and seeks to contribute to the strengthening of critical thinking, research skills, qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, and also raise students' awareness of the thematic, disciplinary and epistemic diversity of development studies domain. Students can select from the set of conferences offered by the 4 UL schools involved in the PhD in Development Studies program.

Programa

The course is part of a set of classes/conferences/thematic modules, delivered by invited teachers/researchers, from national and international Higher Education Institutions, on relevant cutting-edge topics in the field of Development Studies. The program is announced in January of each year.

Metodologia de avaliação

The evaluation process of this course is based on a report (from 4000-5000 words)to be submitted by 15th June underlying a)the choice of the sessions; b)Description of the sessions attended by the PhD candidate.
