Tópicos em Estudos de Desenvolvimento apresentam próxima sexta-feira, dia 12 de março, às 18h00, o webinário "Territorial approaches for food systems transformation", com Francisco Bendrau Sarmento (FAO).

 

Nota biográfica (EN):

More than 25 years of work experience in Africa, America, Asia and Europe; Worked with farmers' associations, social movements, the private sector, governments, non-governmental organizations, academia and UN agencies; Former member of the international secretariat of Actionaid International – a team that strengthened and/or leveraged the creation of more than 21 networks for food and nutritional security of civil society in the global south; increased the funds raised for the organization and developed a remarkable relationship with major donors; author of the "Rights-based territorial development" methodology of ActionAid International and FAO; Elected as a global representative of civil society and negotiator for the reform of the UN World Committee on Food and Nutrition Security (CSA); facilitated negotiations and the preparation of the United Nations Global Strategic Framework for Food Security; as a senior consultant in public policies of FAO elaborated and facilitated the implementation of the Food and Nutrition Security Strategy of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP); Head of FAO’s liaison office with Portugal and all CPLP member states; It currently develops a methodology for FAO aimed at promoting sustainable territorial food systems in the context of the United Nations World Summit on Sustainable Food Systems.
